Br Lawrence Humphrey, FSC is a De La Salle Brother from the United States who is presently serving as Brother President of SJI International.
Br Lawrence is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He entered the De La Salle Brothers after graduation from secondary school, and completed his studies at Christian Brothers University (BA) in Memphis, Tennessee, the University of San Francisco (MA), and The Catholic University of America (Adv. Graduate Cert.)
Before coming to SJI International he was Vice President for Mission at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Most of his years as a De La Salle Brother have been spent in school administration, although he has also been a teacher of History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
Koh Thiam Seng is an alumnus of SJI (Independent) and has a wealth of experience as an educator and team leader. Besides having taught in schools, he has held several senior appointments at the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) before serving as the Principal of SJI (Independent). At the MOE, he was a Deputy Director involved in policy formulation for university, polytechnic and ITE education. As Director of Educational Technology, he led the implementation of Singapore's 2nd lnfocomm Technology (ICT) in Education Masterplan. He was also a Deputy Director at NIE overseeing educational research. Recognised internationally for his expertise in the use of ICT for learning, he has served as a consultant to the Singapore Army and ST Engineering and is currently a consultant to Intel and IDA International.
At SJI, he worked with the Board of Governors, staff and other stakeholders to successfully introduce the Integrated Programme, a six-year programme that integrates four years of secondary education with two years of junior college education leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma. During his term at SJI, he initiated various curricular innovations, which included special programmes such as ArtScience and Business Design Thinking and student-development initiatives like self-regulated learning to better prepare the students for the future.
Bradley Roberts is South African and has spent the last 20 years teaching at International schools in South Africa, Japan, Switzerland and Qatar. He completed his BSc and teaching diploma at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) and his BEd (in Educational Leadership) at the University of South Africa. He has extensive boarding school experience, having been a Housemaster for almost 13 years.
He joined SJI International after a five-year period in Qatar, where he was Head of Secondary School at a large British International school. He is married to Janette and has two sons, both of whom have attended SJI International.
Kevin was born in Australia and attended the University of Western Australia where he completed a Master in Education Management. After working in the Catholic Education sector for five years in 1997 he took up his first overseas posting in Jakarta, Indonesia. Kevin moved to London in 1999, working first at St. Patrick’s Walthamstow and then Dulwich College Preparatory School where he was also fully involved in the Games programme. After three years Kevin moved to Kuala Lumpur to work at Garden International School, spending five years there in a range of roles; his two eldest children were born during this time. He then returned to England to take up the post of Head of the Junior School at All Hallows. This was a period of growth and development at the school, including implementing the International Primary Curriculum and developing a Forest School.
Kevin enjoys all sports, but particularly playing golf and cricket and supporting the West Coast Eagles. He is also a keen gardener and an avid reader.
Linette brings to the team extensive experience in media, marketing and communications. She began her career as a newscaster for SBC/Mediacorp in Singapore and progressed to reporting for and anchoring TV news and financial programmes for the BBC and Sky News in the UK over a span of nearly 20 years.
More recently, Linette was Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication as well as HR Director of Media Training for the Singapore Economic Development Board, overseeing the development and implementation of EDB’s global PR & communication strategies including its 50th anniversary celebrations. She was also Chief Marketing Officer for tech startup Nanoveu, which brought to market the first nano-imprinted screen-film which enabled viewing of 3D with depth-perception on Apple devices. Prior to that, she was Director of Marketing for UK-based publisher Cyan Communications, managing its media and marketing activities across Europe and North America for its various imprints including Marshall Cavendish Business.
Clement Lee oversees the centralised administrative functions of SJI International. Retired from the SAF after 26 years with the rank of Colonel, Clement held a variety of key commands along with operational and managerial staff appointments. A graduate of Hwa Chong, Chinese High School, West Point, and Nanyang Technological University, his Masters of Science is in the area of strategic studies. His experience in leadership development, strategic planning, and organisational administration supports the vision, mission, values, and ethos of our learning community at SJI International.
Deidre Hazlewood gained a Bachelor of Education degree from Edith Cowan University, Australia. She commenced her teaching career as a Primary teacher in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia before moving to the United Kingdom.
Based in London for 12 years, she taught across the full range of Primary grades. With extensive experience in promoting effective and inclusive classroom practices, she contributed to senior leadership and management teams in the roles of Key Stage Coordinator, Advanced Skills Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher. As the Primary Literacy Consultant for Westminster City Council, London, she worked with the School Effectiveness Team to implement and support standards in teaching and learning across Westminster’s 40 inner London primary schools.
Deidre joined the SJI International in 2010 and is committed to ensuring that the students experience a challenging, purposeful and engaging learning experience within a nurturing environment.
